Illustrating for Independence Day!

I got this little guy in my head today and needed to get him down on paper. Not too sure how he relates to Independence Day, but I could MAYBE argue its juxtaposition? I don't know. It's cool and it's a holiday that's the best I could come up with. Love you guys! Have a good fourth.

A bit of the process along the way. The initial drawing is something I do for all my illustrations. Sometimes I make a tight illustration that looks just like the final, sometimes I make a doodle, and sometimes it's a bit in the middle. But it is a must. I can't think on the computer.
